The mission of NICU Helping Hands is to develop hospital- and community-based programs that provide education and support for families with babies while in the NICU, during their transition from hospital to home and in the event of an infant loss.
Locations served: Available in all states but South Dakota
- The mentoring experience is designed to provide current NICU families or bereaved families with a helpful resource who can provide support in challenging times, share their own NICU or loss experience, or assist families in identifying community resources and support.
- NICU Helping Hands has seen time and time again the power of a friend in the midst of the NICU or loss experience…especially a friend who has been through the journey themselves. The mentors are available to be a friend, a supporter, an encourager, or an advocate during this journey.
- Mentors can help point you towards NICU Mom CONNECT activities, support groups, activities for dads and much more.
Angel Gown Program
- The Angel Gown® Program provides comfort for bereaved families through the gift of a beautiful custom made gown for final photos and for burial services. They provide support resources and mentoring programs for bereaved families as well. There is no greater gift that can be given to a grieving family than affirming the importance of the life of their child by offering the simple gift of the Angel Gown® Garments and supporting them emotionally and educationally afterwards.
