Carson’s Village Slack Rules and Etiquette

  • Don’t attack others. The discussions on the community platform are meant to provide support not to create contention. Let others have their say, even if you disagree with them.
  • All defamatory, harassing, abusive, profane, threatening, offensive, or illegal materials and communications are strictly prohibited;these will be removed and could lead to expulsion from Carson’s Village Slack.
  • Do not post commercial messages, promotional material, special offers, or product announcements.Contact people directly with product and service information if you believe it would be of interest to them. Carson’s Village reserves the right to remove such messages and potentially ban the individuals who are the sources of those solicitations.
  • Use caution when discussing people or companies.Information posted on any platform is available for all to see, and comments are subject to libel and slander laws.
  • Abide by Copyright Rules: Do not post any information or other material protected by copyright without the permission of the copyright owner.
  • Do not post anything that you would not want the world to see or that you would not want anyone to know came from you.
  • Be courteous. Please ask participants for permission to republish their words elsewhere (especially if elsewhere would be a publicly viewable setting).
  • Be protective of your own privacy. Remember that other participants will see and may reproduce your postings without your permission.  This is a violation of our etiquette rules, but once information is shared electronically it is usually impossible to retract.  Avoid sharing things that you would rather keep confidential.
  • Be kind. Remember that members of our community are processing significant grief. Validate each other’s feelings, create space for strong emotions, and assume the best intentions of other users.

Policy for Member Community Violations

The Carson’s Village Slack rules and etiquette should not be seen as all-inclusive, but rather to give our users a general idea of the guidelines one should follow when participating in the online community. In order to preserve a climate that encourages supportive communications, Carson’s Village reserves the right to suspend, remove content, or terminate participation on all channels for users who violate these rules.

Taking action against one of our users, particularly in regard to removing an account, is something we wish to avoid. However, such action will occur if necessary to protect the quality of support we strive to provide.

Carson’s Village does not actively monitor these sites for inappropriate postings and does not on its own undertake editorial control of postings. However, in the event that any inappropriate posting is brought to Carson’s Villages attention, Carson’s Village will take all appropriate action.

If there are any questions on what content is appropriate to post, please contact the Carson’s Village Slack Administrators.

The community rules and etiquette may be revised from time to time and it is the user’s responsibility to stay abreast of any changes.
