UPDATE: 7/27/23

One week after their heart surgery, Madison Joiner passed away on July 26, 2023. On their 22nd birthday, a paraganglioma tumor, half the size of their heart, was discovered.  Flown by ambulatory airline from Minneapolis to Houston, Madison underwent an open heart, double bypass surgery.  Even the best surgeons in the nation were unable to rehabilitate the heart after the tumor was removed.

Madison had a beautiful smile and a caring heart that touched the lives of everyone they encountered. Funny, easy-going, and kind, Madison had the remarkable ability to make friends with everyone. They were passionate about justice and always eager to help others, constantly seeking ways to be of service. Madison’s dedication to making a positive impact on the world will always be remembered.

Please join us in prayer for the family as we surround them with our love and compassion.  Also, consider the weight of medical bills and other expenses that the family has incurred on top of the grief that they are experiencing.

In lieu of flowers or food, the family kindly requests that donations be made to assist with their needs. Your contribution will go a long way in supporting them during this difficult time. Madison Joiner will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing them. Their memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of their loved ones. May they rest in peace.

When I met Madison in high school, I always thought they was a fun person. They had a friend group that I thought wasn’t much like me but ended up being all vibrant and fun people like them. Eventually the group started hanging out with her younger sister’s group. They wouldn’t show it often but would always keep a subtle eye on Makayla. At some point they asked me if I could look after their sister when they weren’t around and that’s was one of them times knew that even though they would fight or argue and grow distant with their sister, Madison would always care about her. They was a kind person and will be missed by all that knew them. Goodbye Madison.

  2. Safiyah (Madison's coworker)

As an acquainted friend and coworker of Dear Madison, they were so hardworking as a manager and their kindness was very sincere. they did their best in almost all they did in the workplace, ran a tight ship, not to mention kept a beautiful down to earth style and personality, they were so fun to be around in the way I felt I could be myself around them. They invited me and a couple of other work associates to their bonfire a while back too and it was do fun getting to know their partners and many friends. during my shifts id always look forward to their mother visiting to order food as they’d update me a lil on their health. ever since crafting a card to give to them and wishing their mother and partners farewell on the day they took off to Texas I kept them in my thoughts on occasion until i had sent them a short text on the 28th, asking how they felt in hopes the procedure was a success with no response :(( . I send out many condolences, thoughts and prayers for Madison’s family, partners and closer friends as i couldn’t imagine the level of grief they are going through in these difficult times. Rest easy Madison, you are and will be greatly missed. ♡
