New Partnership

Carson’s Village is excited to announce a new partnership with the Houston Independent School District’s Foundation to launch a pilot program to support the 200,000 students and 30,000 employees throughout the entire district. We will provide an enriched level of service by working directly with each HISD campus where there is a need for support.

Often, we are approached after the death of an HISD student or employee to assist the surviving family members in some way and have been working to identify partners best suited to offer such support in the rapidly evolving situation that occurs after such a devastating event. Carson’s Village is able to assist HISD families to ensure they are not burdened by unnecessary expenses or obligations and we are proud to support this partnership.”

We wish everyone in our Village a peaceful and restful holiday season. For some, the holiday season can trigger feelings of grief. Please consider this article on the Carson’s Village website as you support yourself and others during this time of year.

Grief Support Group

On the second Tuesday of every month, Carson’s Village will be offering a free monthly virtual Grief Group Support Program. This is an informative series which provides an understanding of the dynamics of grief and what to expect; we will explore the myths of grief and learn strategies on how to develop healthy coping skills for adjusting to life without your loved one.

Date: Second Tuesday of every month

December Topic: “Coping Through the Holidays”

Time: 7:00 – 8:30 PM CST

Where: Virtual via Zoom

Facilitator: Valerie Sanchez, LCSW, CT

Cost: Free

How can you help?

Since January of 2018, we have served nearly 1,300 families. The number of requests for our services is rapidly multiplying each month, and if this trend continues, we could easily serve 1,000 families in 2022. We are on our way to being able to serve that increased number, but we still need your help!
